When a big publisher offers a little developer a huge licence like Formula 1, they're putting great faith in the team. When Psygnosis offered us this chance, were honoured to accept - it's not something many people would turn down! We had always dreamt of doing a F1 game, and now was our chance. Then came the small print - we had to develop the game in 14 months from scratch - and that included recruiting most of the team!
A weary 14 months later, after drinking gallons of coke and eating tonnes of pizza, the game was finished. It became the best selling game in Europe of 1996, and came second world-wide to a worthy winner; Final Fantasy 7! We still are proud of the game 4 years on, as it helped make the team and company what it is today. We'd also like to thank Murray Walker for his help with the game. His enthusiasm and keenness helped to make the commentary sparkle, and his contacts within the industry were invaluable. May he brighten our Formula 1 races for years to come!
