The Killing Game Show (or Fatal Rewind in US and Europe) idea came about based upon a demo called 'Robodragon'. The game is a fast-placed platformer, where you control a robot escaping rapidly rising water whilst at the same time tackling a host of bad guys during your ascent.

To get the animation of the main character, Martyn (now Bizarre's MD) tried to work out what it would be like to be 'cut off' at the waist, and have only your arms to get about with (yes, he'd been reading those sort of books again!!) And so the game idea developed, puzzles were designed and the rising water added to act as a constant threat to the player. The finished game took 18 months to write, and nearly all coding and artwork was done by Martyn. Gone are the days when you could do it all yourself!

Looking back on the game, it's actually really difficult! Having to contend with the "crazy floating boxes of doom" as well as the rising water is a challenge and a half. The animation on the main character is really nice though (for the time); it's a suprisingly enjoyable little title!

You can download it and have a bash yourself here.
