Questions.

Postby Mera99 on 22 Nov 2007, 21:06

Ok, just a few questions. I have been following the game since it's announcement (before there was even screenshots).
I've extremely excited about it (instant purchase).

1.Does this game really need to be multi-platform, and will the graphics be maintained in each version?

2.Is there any prospect of downloadable content, throughout the game's lifetime?

3.I understand that the game is very near completion, but is there any chance of melee combat (however basic it is). I notice that some character's have melee based weaponary equipped on their costumes.

I have watched the trailer many times, and haven't seen an melee button (the buttons may already be mapped to different features within the game).

Ideas regarding a melee button.
I know the game is about guns, which is why I'm suggesting something basic (no combos or anything).

-Give the characters a melee attack/gun butt move assigned to a button. When used it causes the enemy to stagger. You can kill the enemy while they're in a reeling animation by shooting them. This could be called a 'Take Down' or something.

-When sprinting, if you press the melee button, a shoulder tackle could be initated (maybe a flying kick in Kuro's case). This move has the same properties as a normal melee attack. However, when you kill the enemy after you get a 'Running Take Down' or 'Rush Down' announcement.

5.Will the combination of multiple stylish kills, create different stylish kills?

For instance, if I were to do a 'Death Roll' and a 'Crack Shot' or 'Explosive' and a Death Roll. Would I get a 'Rolling Crack Shot' or an 'Explosive Death Roll', respectively?

6.Will this game be release in Japan, as I have a JPN XBOX 360 (XBOX Live
is better than Playstation Network, so I'm not buying it for my PS3)?

Sorry if the questions seem dorky, and keep up the good work.

Well it doesn't need to be multi-platform in the same way as you need food and water to survive... but each version will be identical in terms of graphics (obviously you'll need a meaty enough PC to make that version look the same as the Xbox 360 or PS3 versions though)...

We haven't really decided yet. That said, we've bundled as much gameplay as possible into the game on the disc, so I don't think you'll be pining for DLC any time soon (at least I hope not!).

There is melee combat, but as you say it's very basic (press a button, and smack someone). It's really intended as a last resort for when you don't have time to reload, or just want to show off. ;)

You'll get each modifier in turn, and they'll each contribute to your score in a big way. In your example, the words "Death Roll" would appear on the screen, and then immediately afterwards "Crack Shot". If you're good enough you can literally keep the prompting text on screen virtually throughout the level: "Headshot! Headshot! Crack shot! Headshot Heaven! Death Roll! Snap Shot!" etc. etc.
