Fur Fighters Racing announced!

Bizarre Creations revives franchise in new genre

Tuesday, April 01 2008

After many months of fevered speculation, we're incredibly pleased to announce a new Bizarre game, heading in a direction I'm sure you'll love!

Moving away from PGR, the Bizarre team have used this opportunity to really push the envelope in different directions. Building on the rich Fur Fighters heritage, it was natural for the team to blend both cutesy character action and furious racing action that we're known for.

Fur Fighters Racing will bring several brand new, never-before-seen enhancements to the racing genre, including:

  • Multiple characters, each with different handling abilities and hilarious Hollywood star voices.
  • Cutesy racing action.
  • Advanced weaponary, including the Bomb Launcher, Plasma Blaster, and Neutron Gun.
  • For the first time in a Bizarre Creations game, go-karts will be the main driving vehicles, with a whole new physics engine.
  • Varied racing circuits with environmental hazards, such as Beaver Speedway and Dinotopolis Drifto Course.
  • Unique scoring system, taking a step away from Kudos and towards the fun elements of the Fur Fighters world.
  • Online, competitive and head-to-head action.

Here's what head honcho Martyn Chudley had to say about the announcement: "There is no better way to build on our core strengths as a company than to blend our racing expertise with the fully featured world of Fur Fighters. Fur Fighters Racing brings the characters you love back by popular demand, but this time they've not just got guns, they've got wheels!"

Fur Fighters Racing will be released in Q2 2008 on XBLA. There will also be a Special Edition metal box set made available, including a limited-run animal comic strip, and cuddly flamethrower toy.

This is an opportunity we've been beavering away on for many years now, and it's fantastic to finally announce the game. We're eager to hear your feedback, so please let us know what you think in the comments section below!
