BBR: The grading system
We explain how to nail those "A" grades...
Have you got all "A***" grades (and achievements) in Boom Boom Rocket yet? No? Then keep reading my friend, as Bizarre coder Sam Hall will reveal how it all works under the hood...
Grade System
Each firework you detonate is awarded a value from 0 to 1. The closer to 1 you get is the closer to the target line you got (i.e. perfect timing). As far as the grades onscreen go this is how they translate:
Above 0.95 = "perfect"
Above 0.8 = "awesome"
Above 0.4 = "good"
Above 0.0 = "ok"
All the accuracy values you get for each firework over the level are added up and divided by the number of fireworks in the level to give an average accuracy in the range 0 to 1 (and rounded up to the nearest whole number). We then multiply this number by 5 to make the grade value a number between 0 and 5. If you miss a firework then it will count as an accuracy of 0, thus bringing your average accuracy down. That’s all there is to it, your grade is simply your average accuracy. They translate like this:
5 = A
4 = B
3 = C
2 = D
1 = E
Getting star ratings
If greater than 75% of your detonations are Perfects you get an A***.
If greater than 50% of your detonations are Perfects you get an A**.
If greater than 25% of your detonations are Perfects then you get an A*.
Hit Ratio
This is the number of fireworks you detonated divided by the total number of fireworks in the level, multiplied by 100 to give a percentage.
Accuracy
This is not to be confused with the average accuracy which is used to calculate your grade. This is your average accuracy but only on the fireworks you hit. Missing fireworks will not affect your accuracy percentage. Accuracy is all your accuracy values added up divided by the number of fireworks you hit multiplied by 100 to give a percentage.
Thanks Sam!
