Arcade Mode details revealed
And a couple of new photos too...
If you've played a PGR game before, the chances are that you've spent some time collecting medals and hunting down those platinums! Of course, there are plenty of new opportunities to do exactly that in PGR4 - the new Arcade Mode is traditional medal pursuit style Gotham gameplay, but kicked into overdrive with new weather conditions, bikes, and game modes.
The brand new Arcade Mode takes place over several different chapters, each of which has several events contained inside it. Each chapter is themed to a particular driving discipline. For example, "Catch Me If You Can" is all about competitive racing against over drivers, whilst "Drifto 101" consists mainly of drifting and Kudos type events.
The aim of Arcade Mode is to race each event, and earn medals in each. Steel medals are awarded for novices, right up to Platinums for expert players. Also, the Arcade Mode in PGR4 is split into two, one side for cars and the other for bikes. There are 108 medals available in total.
Arcade Mode is really the place to start if you're a PGR veteran looking for some instant gratification. You can tackle events in any order you like (provided you've unlocked them of course), and keep retrying them to beat your best score. All events have Xbox Live leaderboards, so you can check if you're really the best of the best. We've updated the Arcade Mode page on the PGR4 section of bizarrecreations.com with the above details, as well as a full event listing. Check it out by clicking here.
Also, as promised a couple of days ago, we're carrying on the "releasing a photo mode shot per day" for you guys. Today's a bit special though, as we couldn't stick to our word and instead we're going to release two shots. Aren't we rubbish? :)
So the first is an arty style shot, showing the light at the end of the tunnel in Macau. This one just goes to show how flexible the new Photo Mode system is... you can make some really nice screens with it which are totally unlike what you see normally in the game.
The second shot is a Toyota 2000GT, framed beautifully using the new Tunnel filter. This is definitely a favourite in the Bizarre offices...
